This is a college level course and I will demand formal, college level-writing throughout. I will expect that your work will be spell-checked and proof-read before you submit it to me. I will also expect that your writing is clear, lucid and thorough (relative to the material in the text). If, in the past, you have had difficulty writing and you are aware that this is not one of your strong points, it is highly recommended that you reconsider taking this course or adjust your expectations accordingly. While I do not intend to appear unfriendly, or unnecessarily intimidating, the hard truth is this: if you are unable, or unwilling, to write well, or do not have the time to do so, this is definitely not the course for you. I can assure you that I will not lower my standards to meet you. You will have to rise to the standards of the course. I will comment more specifically, and extensively, regarding my expectations on this front at the required course orientation.
